Studying online at Derby

I had always wanted to study psychology but didn't have the time or inclination to study on-campus. I had tried distance learning in other subjects but felt isolated and the time between completing work and getting feedback was too long.

Online distance learning at Derby suggested a community type of study with access to other learners. It's flexible and I never felt isolated. You can take part in the community as much or as little as you like. I was also attracted by the self paced, pay as you go style of study.

Great support

At Derby there is support from the online support team who can help with just about everything. The tutors are very passionate about their subjects and are always happy to answer questions. No matter how far from the University you are, someone is there to listen and advise you.

Having left school at 16 in the late 1980s, I was very disillusioned with the education system, feeling that it had somehow failed me for not understanding my learning potential and abilities. Derby has not only restored my faith in the system but also in my own abilities. I can't imagine  how my life would have been without online study. It has widened my horizons, given me the self confidence to trust in my own ability and opened up unknown options for me.

I would recommend online study to everyone.
