Our virtual open days have been designed to give you the chance to meet our online tutors, dedicated support team and other online students, using online technology where you can ask questions, and get a taste of what online distance learning is actually like.

The technology we use to run our virtual open days is also used to run interactive lectures on our online courses, so you can try it out and see what you think before signing up for a course. And better still, you don’t need to travel anywhere - you can simply join in from home, work or via a mobile device.

Once you've registered to attend a virtual open, you will be sent joining instructions a few days prior to the date.

To ensure you have the best experience, we also recommend the following :

• access to the internet, preferably using a broadband connection
• cabled internet may offer you better connectivity than wireless
• a microphone or built in headset/webcam or a stand alone microphone so you can ask questions and talk to the online tutors - this is not essential as you can also use the text chat facility to submit questions (similar to MSN)
• use of headphones so that you can clearly hear the session
