If you already hold an HND or Foundation degree in Information Technology, you can upgrade it to an honours degree in 18 months - 3 years (depending on your pace of study) with our online BSc (Hons) Information Technology top up degree. Gaining a full honours degree makes your CV more impressive and allows you to move onto a Masters degree at a later stage, should you wish to. It’s a popular choice for those wishing to update their computing skills such as networking, web technology and database knowledge which can be directly applied within the workplace.

An ideal course to study online
What better subject to study online than IT. Theoretical and practical work can be completed easily from your computer or mobile devices, and as someone who will naturally be very computer literate, you’ll have no problem getting to grips with the online learning systems, such as discussion forums and interactive online lectures.
Studying online gives you the flexibility to study at the most convenient time and place for you. Course modules still operate within a fixed trimester but you can choose to study during the day, in the evenings or at the weekend rather than having to attend fixed lectures.
We are currently updating and revalidating the module content for this course. From September 2013 each module will be worth 20 credits instead of the current 15. This means you may be doing fewer modules but will be covering topics in more depth.

English language qualifications
If English is not your first language you will need an English language qualification. For this course you will need at least one of the following:
- IELTS 6.0
- TOEFL 550 (paper based) 213 (computer based) or 80 (internet based)
- Pearson Test of Academic English: 51
- Cambridge Advanced Certificate: Pass
- London Tests of English: we accept level 4 for undergraduate courses
- International GCE O Level English Language: Grade C
- International GCSE English/English as a Second Language: Grade C.

With this broad degree, you would be a suitable candidate for job opportunities in virtually any area of computing and information technology. You could become a systems architect, help-desk supervisor, systems engineer, or a network technician for instance.
