Theory that directly relates to the workplace
Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to put to the test the theories and concepts you’ve learnt – to see how these work in real business situations. This means that you’ll be gaining a more practical, relevant qualification.
We are currently updating and revalidating the module content for this course. From September 2013 each module will be worth 20 credits instead of the current 15. This means you may be doing fewer modules but will be covering topics in more depth.

You will need A levels or equivalent qualifications such as a BTEC Certificate or Diploma, an International Baccalaureate, OU credits, an Access to HE diploma, Scottish Highers or Irish Leaving Certificate.
We’ll also consider all the information that you include in your application, including evidence of any relevant experience which demonstrates you have the potential to succeed on this online learning degree.
If English is not your first language you will need an English language qualification.
For this course you will need at least one of the following:

- Pearson Test of Academic English: 51
- Cambridge Advanced Certificate: Pass
- London Tests of English: we accept level 4 for undergraduate courses

A qualification that’s relevant to all careers
Our business graduates have gone on to work in many areas, including sales, operations, HR, marketing and accounts. These positions have been in companies of varying shapes and sizes, from large corporates such as Shell and IBM, through to small and family-run businesses.
You may wish to consider a postgraduate degree such as our MSc Strategic Management or further professional business and management vocational courses such as those run by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Edexcel, CIPD or ILM.
With a minimum of 3 years management experience, you could then go on to apply for an MBA.
