Learning Beyond Registration
Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is a vital part of developing competent, capable health service practitioners prepared to deliver a dynamic, flexible, quality, client-focused service. If you're employed by the NHS in the East Midlands then you may be eligible for fee-free access to our LBR modules and/or programmes. You'll need to supply evidence of approval from your line manager and Trust Education Lead when you apply.
About this module
Occupational Science is still a relatively new science that has its base in a number of different subject areas, but is of particular importance to Occupational Therapy.
The use of occupation and activity are fundamental to professional practice, and occupational science offers the opportunity to begin to explore the meaning of occupation to individual human beings. This module introduces the concept of occupational science and enables you to investigate the implications on practice. It builds on existing knowledge but introduces new ways of thinking about occupation and its importance to lifestyle.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this module you will be able to:
- Demonstrate critical and informed knowledge of occupational science.
- Critically analyse the importance of occupational science on occupational therapy in practice.
- Critically evaluate occupational science within an individual lifestyle.
