We asked Nic, one of our BA (Hons) Popular Music with Music Technology students, what he thought about the course.
» What did you like about the course?
Now that the studios have been refitted you are able to work and record in a professional environment with professional results. The course provides you with a wide variety of knowledge across the board, with opportunity to focus in certain areas in the third year.
» Are there any modules in particular you enjoyed?
In the second year you are given the option of complementary studies allowing you to gain credit for extra curricular activities. Embracing this allows you to do what you enjoy most whilst working towards your degree.
» Have you done a work placement or gained work experience?
I worked for three weekends in a local studio where I was able to watch and learn from a professional in a 'real world' scenario.
» Are there any bits of equipment you like using?
Getting to use and know the recording studio and the university's sound equipment was an invaluable experience.
» How do you find the lecturers and the university?
The lecturers put their all into helping you to increase your knowledge and experience.
