Roger Helmer MEP
Roger Helmer has been an MEP for the East Midlands since 1999, and has lived in the region for 30 years.
After graduating from Cambridge with a BA and an MA, Roger went on to hold various marketing and general management positions with major multi-nationals, working both in the UK and overseas.
Along with representing his constituents, Roger is also the UKIP spokesman on energy and industry. He has led the debate in calling for Britain to have a rational energy policy, believing current green energy initiatives are making British business less competitive, and costing jobs. Roger is also leader of the 24-strong UKIP delegation (the largest UK delegation in Brussels).
