University Says "Ask Us!"
7 July 2010
Potential students can Ask Us from anywhere in the world
Potential students can now contact the University of Derby with their questions 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world - and get an immediate response.
From July 7, the University's online 'Ask Us' facility, powered by intelliresponse, will be extended from current students to anyone interested in applying to a course.
John Whall, from the University's Student Support and Information Services said: "We know that people interested in studying at Derby have lots of questions about what and how they can study. Ideally, people want to know the answers immediately which is why we've developed this automated service for anyone thinking of applying to the University."
"The service was originally launched for current students, but as we received over 40,000 questions in the last year we knew that it would be something our applicants could benefit from as well."
Potential students can visit www.derby.ac.uk/askus and 'Ask Us' 24 hours a day, seven days a week from anywhere in the world, and receive an automated answer immediately. Questions include: How can I apply for a course?, What courses can I study?, and How do I get to the University?
"Unlike Google, you don't need to search our web pages using the correct terminology to get your answer. Simply ask a full question like: 'How do I apply for a course?' And you'll get a full answer", added John.
