University Marketer Celebrates Masters Degree Success
19 November 2012
A marketing manager for the University of Derby Buxton and Buxton College celebrated alongside the students she helped to recruit after graduating with a Masters degree in Professional Development,
Beverley Cooke, who has worked for the College and University for 12 years, took her own advice and got back into education by embarking on a Masters degree in 2009.
She said: "I wanted to take my sector specific Marketing knowledge to the next level. I knew that an MA in Professional Development - Education and Marketing Management - would set me apart, and help me to progress in my future career."
After three years of part time learning Beverley succeeded in meeting her own high expectations by achieving a Distinction. She collected her award at the University's Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday (November 17).
Beverley added: "Undertaking and completing this Masters degree with an applied marketing context has certainly added value to my role and my department. My greater understanding of theoretical constructs of marketing has been incredibly useful to me and my team, as we work in an increasingly challenging and competitive sector."
"I would also like to thank the University for the opportunity as part of their commitment to lifelong learning and continuing professional development."
