24 November 2011
The Transport and Travel team's new social media sites give up to the minute information, including on Unibus services.
James Brown, University Transport and Travel Manager.
The University Transport and Travel team has extended its reach into the 'digital superhighway' by launching a Facebook and Twitter presence.
The team cover all aspects of travel to the University including Unibus - bus services between the University's sites, to main halls of residence, Derby city centre and beyond - as well as cycling, walking, car share and parking.
As part of their service there is now a 'Derby Uni Travel' presence on Facebook and Twitter presence. On Facebook it can be found at www.facebook.com/DerbyUniTravel and on Twitter at @DerbyUniTravel.
Here, the University's Transport and Travel team can post up to the minute news about travel, for example issues affecting the running of buses, and respond to comments and suggestions about services.
James Brown, University Transport and Travel Manager, said: "We are always trying to be innovative with our services, to try and make people's journeys easier.
"Many staff and students use Facebook and Twitter every day, so it makes sense for us to have a presence on those social media sites."
