6 May 2011
Members of the School of Culture and Lifestyle's academic team travelled to Stenden Rangsit University in Thailand to share their knowledge and experience at a Spa and Health Workshop recently.
On the news pages of Stenden's University's website http://stendenrangsit.com, it says: 'Spa and Health Management is one of the fastest growing areas of hospitality, and Sarah Rawlinson (Assistant Dean of the University of Derby Buxton ) and Charles Spring (Assistant Subject Manager) from Buxton are right at the cutting edge of educational research as well as innovative curriculum design.
'Their advice and contribution to our programme has been really exiting, and has provided an affirmation that the programme at Stenden is academically exciting, demanding, and in keeping with the best programmes anywhere in the world.'
Sarah Rawlinson said: "It was very interesting to be part of the revision of Stenden's spa curriculum and to have the opportunity to contribute to the knowledge and skills of future hospitality managers around the world."
In an act of reciprocation, the Buxton visitors invited academics from Stenden's Bali and Thailand campuses to its spa and wellness conference to be held in June at the Buxton Campus.
