Staff League - Final Match

With all the business wrapped up for this season, this season's Team Derby Staff Football League was finished off with a game that held an exhibition style flavour as KFC Athletic faced champions Obi-Wan-Kenobi-Nil.
In the previous fixture between these two, the Colonels became the first team to take points away from the would-be champs in a thrilling 4-4 draw that almost derailed the Jedis' season.
And KFC were determined to make life hard for Obi-Wan as chances were squandered at both ends. Colonels 'keeper Tony Smith was on top form to foil Obi-Wan as he made three top-class saves in the first half to keep the score level.
But Obi-Wan were not to be denied for much longer as marksman Andy Ward finally found the target to give his side the lead going into half-time.
The pattern continued after the break and the Jedis were quickly rewarded when Ward doubled the lead to all but secure the victory.
There was still time for another goal as the teams toiled under the intense June sunshine and it was Garford Moore who grabbed it just before the end, his third of the season.

Andy Ward's brace has secured the golden boot ahead of fellow net-buster Sam O'Neill, the striker lashed in 15 goals in 10 outings as his side fought their way to the title. Personal glory time now as a full list of scorers follows:
