January 2011 Honorand, former Olympic marathon runner Arthur Keily

Do you know someone whose contribution to the University, the city of Derby or Derbyshire who deserves to be recognised and praised? If so, why not nominate them for an Honorary Award from the University.

At each year's Awards Ceremony, the University recognises a number of leading lights - people who have put the area on the map, or worked hard to make a positive difference to a nearby community. Recent Honorands include Gwen Taylor, Neil Mckay, Arthur Keily, Bob Laxton, Sat Bains and Margaret Whittaker. To find out more about our our past honoraries.go to  www.derby.ac.uk/honorary-awards

The University is seeking more nominations for people to be considered to receive future awards. The nomination criteria and an online application form are available by emailing d.cameron@derby.ac.uk
