Service Dedicated To Student Wellbeing Launched
10 November 2010
The University has recently launched a Student Wellbeing Service
The University is always looking to improve the support it offers to students, and has recently launched its Student Wellbeing Service.
The new service will focus on students' total wellbeing, by bringing together the Support and Advisory Service; health, finance, disability, mental health and counselling teams.
Students will be given appropriate support by the team; who are committed to solving problems in as few appointments as possible.
Joanne Jones, Student Wellbeing Service Manager, said: "We will be supporting students in new ways - by being more proactive and helping them to develop new skills and strategies to support themselves. This will include a programme of groups and workshops for students to help them develop life skills that will help them in all areas of their lives."
"We want to be as flexible and responsive to student needs as possible - so we'll be talking to students and staff much more about the support we offer and trying to better understand further services that are needed."
The new service will also provide guidance for the University's academic and front line staff who work with students.
