Postgraduate Competition

Postgraduate study at the University of Derby has now been made even easier, with the opportunity to get £1,000 off course costs

We really believe in the value of continuing your education and postgraduate study is a great way to do this

Peter Allen, Marketing Director.

Not many people are paid £2 per word but the University of Derby is offering career minded graduates the chance to effectively earn just that.

A 500 word written application could net one lucky person £1,000 off the cost of a postgraduate course starting this September (2010) at the University. The generous offer is part of a new campaign by the University called 'Why Me?'

You could be a recent graduate looking to improve your career prospects or someone long out of education but looking for a change in direction. The wide range of postgraduate courses at the University could develop your career in, or provide the first steps into the field of, for example: accountancy, business or marketing; acoustics or environmental health; psychotherapy or dance therapy; computer games production; education; international spa management; commercial law; graphic design, animation or illustration.

To enter the competition you must submit a 500 word application saying why you should receive £1,000 off the cost of a University of Derby postgraduate course. It might be that you want to develop your career, get the job you have always wanted or are looking to receive a promotion. Written entries must be received by the University by the closing date of Monday May 31. For further details go to www.derby.ac.uk/whyme.

The winner will be informed by the University. Peter Allen, Marketing Director at the University of Derby, said: "We really believe in the value of continuing your education and postgraduate study is a great way to do this. "We want to find people committed to improving their skills - which is why we are running the competition.

"You can study a wide range of postgraduate courses; as a full time, part time or online student. You might be taking a Masters degree, postgraduate (PG) certificate, PG diploma, or a professional course. We also offer research degrees such as PhDs and doctorates."

Graduates who did their first (undergraduate) degree course at the University of Derby may also be eligible for an additional ten per cent off postgraduate course fees.
