Students looking to start university in September are invited to an Open Day, being held on Saturday March 17 at the University of Derby's Derby and Buxton campuses.
Taking place from 10am - 3pm, those keen to move into higher education will have the opportunity to find out more about the range of courses available, listen to talks and presentations on topics including careers and how to prepare for university, and take a tour of the campuses and facilities on offer.
They'll also be able to find out more about student funding from the University's 'tuition fees experts', who will explain the changes to how tuition fees are borrowed and repaid for students starting in 2012.
Professor John Coyne, Vice-Chancellor at the University of Derby, said: "Open days provide students considering coming to our University with a fantastic opportunity to get a real feel for the place, as well as finding out more about the courses they're particularly interested in."
As well as the talks and tours, staff and students will be on hand to answer any questions prospective students and their parents may have - providing all of the information they require to make the decision on whether the University of Derby is the right choice for them.
Professor Coyne adds: "Making the decision to go university can be life-changing in so many ways. Not only are you able to continue your studies in a subject that you're passionate about, during your university years you will also forge meaningful friendships and gain important work and life experience.
"All of this will equip you with the skills required to successfully move on to the next stage of your life; whether that's into the career of your dreams or postgraduate study of some kind. It all starts with getting the feel for the place where this transformation will begin - that's why Open Days are so important."
The Open Days are being held at the University of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby and at the University of Derby Buxton, Devonshire Road, Buxton on Saturday March 17 (10am - 3pm).
