New Unit Will Deliver Corporate Intelligence
5 December 2012
A new specialised University division, the Corporate Intelligence Unit (CIU), is now up and running. Under the leadership of the Registrar, June Hughes, CIU is set to deliver information and data analysis that enables responsive corporate planning.
The Unit brings together high performing teams from Planning and Statistics, Corporate Planning, Student Systems and Operations, Programme Build and Business Continuity and Risk. CIU will be headed up by Rob Careless, who joined the University on November 19 from Derbyshire Constabulary where he was the Deputy Head of Corporate Services/Head of Planning and Performance.
June Hughes, University Registrar, said: "In this changing higher education landscape universities need to be increasingly responsive to change.
"By carrying out market research into sector developments and regulatory requirements, and undertaking strategic analysis of key data and information within higher education, the newly launched CIU will help the University to understand trends, anticipate future change and respond effectively. We are delighted to have someone of Rob's caliber and experience on board to enable us to do this."
Rob Careless added: "I am delighted to join the University of Derby and look forward to working with key stakeholders to shape the way in which the University makes use of its management information and intelligence, to improve its services and achieve organisational goals."
