Month Will Celebrate Diverse Community
22 February 2012
The Equality and Diversity team will be pulling out all the stops to celebrate the University's diverse staff and student populations during Diversity Month.
A host of events will take place at all sites throughout March including a series of equality and diversity staff development sessions and workshops.
The diversity months kicks off at the Buxton Campus on March 5 at a World Cultural Day, which will include music, dance, food, drinks and competitions for staff and students.
Staff across the whole of the University will be able to take advantage of training and development opportunities such as;
- LGBT and Faith
- Marriage in Different Cultures
- Mental Health Awareness
- British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness Training.
The month's activities will culminate at a two-day festival in the Atrium at the Kedleston Road site on March 20 and 21 when there will be performances, food, stalls and activities celebrating different cultures.
