The Enterprise Centre hosted the recent LEI event
Many staff within LEI attended a half day event at the beginning of July. The event was held at the Enterprise Centre and ran twice over consecutive days.
As well as presentations from Professor Liz Barnes 'The Shape of Things to Come' and Professor John Coyne 'The Challenges Ahead', staff participated in a group quiz and speed dating, where 'introducers' representing different teams of LEI had five minute conversations at ten tables.
Wishes and Glows
As part of the event staff were asked to jot down on post-it notes particular high points of their job or work, and something that they would wish to take forward into the new department. A 'Valuing Staff Group', with cross-departmental membership, is now being established to review the comments and other feedback, and to prepare an action plan.
The Structure of the Department
As reported in the last edition of Connected, LEI's management structure is in place www.derby.ac.uk/connected/stories/lis-restructuring-latest. The Department's Leadership Group continues to work on the wider structure. Further details will be available in the autumn.
