As series nine of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing properly gets underway tomorrow,9pm, Friday 30 September many fans will turn to Derby's Katherine Cory for the latest news.

Katherine, 25, is a website and print design specialist who was named among the Top 100 freelancers by creative media website The Drum.

But many people know her better as the unofficial source of online news for music and dance TV programmes Strictly Come Dancing, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing On Ice and others.

Since she set up her unofficial 'Strictly Dancing Fansite' website www.strictlydancingfansite.com in 2004, while doing her A-levels, it has had 8.5million 'hits' and is regularly updated with the latest news and gossip on contestants and programmes.

Katherine, a former MA ADAPT - Masters degree in Art & Design, Advanced Practice & Theories course student at the University of Derby, said: "When I developed my Strictly website there was no Twitter or Facebook chatter about programmes like Strictly Come Dancing so, as a fan of the programme, I decided to create an online resource for it.

"I've had to update it regularly of course, not least to accommodate the growth in social media sites, and that's very good experience for me that I can then use when I'm working on projects for my business clients.

"This series I think McFly band member Harry Judd stands a good chance of winning Strictly Come Dancing, although it would be nice for Jason Donovan to win it."

Business clients for her company, Katherine Cory Design, have included Hatch'd arts magazine, a local recruitment company and various Derbyshire creative companies.

Katherine will be one of more than 70 entrepreneurs exhibiting at the University's Open for Business 2011 event at its Enterprise Centre in BridgeStreet, Derby, from 2pm to 6pm on Monday 10 October.
