International Master Class

Visiting professor and international psychotherapy expert Professor Allan Abbass hosted a successful master class at the University this summer.
The event attracted about 30 people and the event gave people the chance to interact with the speaker, ask questions and clarify issues. Professor Abbass, who is based in Canada, showed videotapes of demonstrations with the focus of using the intensive short-term psychodynamic approach with patients with severe and resistant mental health problems.
Professor Lorraine Ellis opened the event and Professor Abbass continues to use his knowledge and expertise to enrich teaching and research here at the University.
The event also had the support of Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust.
