First Class Training For Chatsworth Managers
19 November 2010
Managers at Chatsworth - home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire - are to go on a tailor-made training course demonstrating the latest methods in managing people and services.
The one year course will see 20 senior employees at Chatsworth given training to help them better manage its services; as well as businesses such as its restaurants, farm shop, and corporate and entertainment events.
The 'Chatsworth Programme' diploma will be taught by the University of Derby's business-to-business arm, University of Derby Corporate (UDC) and through its Buxton Campus.
The Duke of Devonshire is the University of Derby's Chancellor.
The specially designed course will add to the managers' current experience with workshops in subjects such as personal development, managing people and budgets, and project planning.
Conor Moss, Head of Learning Solutions at UDC and one of the Chatsworth Programme tutors, said: "The business side at Chatsworth has grown considerably over the last few years and it has ambitious plans for further growth.
"It was natural for the Duke, as the University's Chancellor, to approach UDC. Tutors from the University will help deliver the management training as there is a good match between what Chatsworth does and the subjects they teach such as business management, leadership, tourism, events and hospitality."
A Chatsworth spokesperson said: "We are delighted to be working with the University of Derby on this groundbreaking management training programme, which we feel will meet individual as well as corporate training needs."
The Chatsworth Programme diploma will be an accredited course which would count towards a degree course if the employee wanted to study further.
University of Derby Corporate specialises in the development of custom-built, accredited courses for companies and other organisations' training.
