Hospitality students at Buxton College, part of the University of Derby Buxton, raised £250 for Hospitality Action with a fine dining experience at the Dome Restaurant yesterday.
The students, who are currently studying towards a BTEC National Diploma in Hospitality Supervision, spent the last four weeks planning and promoting the fundraising event which featured a three-course fine dining experience and a prize raffle.
In total, 52 customers enjoyed the charity lunch, which was prepared and served by University of Derby Buxton catering students. The lunch was followed by a raffle when prizes such as a haircut at Toni & Guy, a spa treatment at The Devonshire Spa and cup cakes from The Cup Cake Boutique were given away.
Hospitality Supervision student Charlotte Underwood, who supervised the event, said: "We're all really chuffed at how well it went and want to thank everyone who came for the meal and donated so generously. We would like to thank the businesses from Buxton and Leek who provided us with such great prizes."
The £250 raised will go to the charity Hospitality Action, which raises vital funds to care for hospitality workers past and present who have fallen on hard times.
