Dance And Sport Set To Get Sinfin Festival Hopping
8 August 2012
Fiery rockets and fancy footwork will be among the many attractions at a free Sinfin family fun day this month (August).
Rocket launches, hip hop and other live dance routines, and have-a-go craft workshops will feature at the first Sinfin Community Festival from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday August 11 at Sinfin Moor Park, Derby.
The Festival has been organised by the Sinfin Families Action Network. Support and funding has come from the Friends of Sinfin Moor group, Derby City Council, WildDerby, Baby People Studios and the University of Derby's Community Relations team.
There will be dance performances by Trinity Warriors - who recently reached the finals of Sky 1 TV's Got To Dance - as well as the Footlights Dance School and Baby People Studios. Activities will include a quiz with prizes from the University of Derby, a climbing wall, sports, displays by boxing fitness team Ozbox, craft workshops and other fun activities.
Jessica Bales of Sinfin Families Action Network said: "We are very pleased to present Sinfin's first community festival. The event has been organised to showcase the variety of different groups and activities available in and around the Sinfin area. We encourage everyone to come along and join us to make the day a huge success."
The Festival is a free family event but all children (under-16s) must be accompanied by an adult. People are encouraged to come along and enjoy this first ever Sinfin Community Festival, with the hope that it will be developed to become an annual fixture.
