Conferences Give Staff The Power To Make A Difference
5 December 2012
Staff across the University will be invited to attend the first of a series of Staff Engagement Conferences on January 8 (2013) where they will be asked to generate ideas, share good practice and shape actions that will impact on working lives.
The conferences have grown out of its Vision to Action events and the 'It's Our University Let's Make a Difference Together' initiative. The conferences' themes of careers, physical environment, information/ communication and values have been taken directly from the outcome of this summer's Staff Engagement Survey.
The day has been designed so that attendees will be updated on the rationale behind University priorities, be given an opportunity to be solution-focussed by challenging the status quo, work with colleagues to share good practice and generate new ideas, and work together to decide on future directions of work.
Martyn Holden, HR Director, said: "We are really excited to launch these new-format events. They will be a fantastic opportunity for staff members to have a positive influence on the working lives of their colleagues."
All staff will be invited and bookings will be taken from early December (2012). For more information email: staffengagement@derby.ac.uk
