Call For Drivers Up For 'Le Mans' Challenge

12 October 2010

Lemans

Don't miss your chance to compete in the world famous 'Le Mans' 24 hour race - right here at the University's Buxton Campus.

On October 21 and 22, the Devonshire Dome will be roaring with the sound of slot cars (Scalextric), as eight teams race around the eight-lane 223-foot- long replica of the Le Mans race circuit.

More teams are needed to take part in this exhilarating duration challenge, which starts at 9am on Thursday October 21. When the chequered flag falls, teams of eight people will race their slot car around the track continually for 24 hours in a bid to complete the greatest number of laps.

The Le Mans race is being brought to Buxton by the Rolls-Royce leisure association, which has strong links with Buxton College's Motor Vehicle courses.

If you would like to enter a team for the challenge, email Tara Silverman at Dome Event Management on t.silverman@derby.ac.uk or call 07917 556269 as soon as possible.
