A Buxton creative design agency has won a national contract for the re-branding of Buxton College, the Further Education arm of the University of Derby, with its new look signage being launched today, 22 June.

First Impression Creative Design and Marketing of Buxton competed against leading design agencies specialising in education, as well as agencies from London and around the UK to win the contract. The new branding and logo they designed includes a dramatic green, red, blue and orange image representing the iconic Devonshire Dome on a black logo.

Head of the Buxton College of Further Education, Mary Blauciak, said: "The dynamic new logo celebrates the fantastic Dome which is seen as one of the college's strongest distinguishing features.

"At the College we ensure our students grow in confidence as they achieve qualifications that will equip them for progression to higher education or directly into employment. As well as being an impressive educational facility, the Dome is a community hub and meeting place. The logo captures all of this perfectly."

Martin Duncan, Sales Director at First Impression, said: "We were delighted to be awarded this national contract for the re-branding of Buxton College. We are passionate about what we do, helping organisations develop and grow through good branding and marketing.

"As a local company we knew that Buxton College is home to an iconic building in the centre of Buxton, providing an inspiring place to work and study as well as the many visitors that come through its doors. It was important to reflect that inspiration in the new brand, and we are very proud of the result. We hope the people who work and study at Buxton College will be too."

Peter Allen, Director of Marketing at the University of Derby said: "We feel that First Impression's knowledge and interest of the local area and of the College was really what enabled them to design such a fitting logo, which was so in tune with our own ideas. Their enthusiasm and desire to win the project really set them apart from the other agencies and won us over."
