Appeal For Research Help
11 April 2011
We are recruiting for a study exploring the effects of practising compassion focused imagery on people's mood and well-being. You can do this study at home by going on to the University of Derby website where we are hosting the study, and here you can listen to instructions and then various types of imagery exercises.
The study is completely online, and so can be done from the comfort of your own home. You will be asked to fill out some questionnaires (approxiamately 10 to 15 minutes), listen to the imagery instructions (approxiamately 20 minutes), and then you will be guided through three meditation sessions (approxiamately 15 minutes).
After listening to the instructions and all three meditation sessions the first time round, you do not have to listen to them all again if you do not wish. You may choose to only use one of the meditation practices for your future sessions. After each week, you will be required to fill out a diary to let us know how often you practiced, and which imagery you preferred (approxiamately five minutes).
An information sheet explaining the study further, that will explain what to do is attached to this email. If you have any questions about taking part in the study, please email Kirsten McEwan k.mcewan@derby.ac.uk.
Support will be greatly appreciated to help the team in developing better compassion focused therapies.
