Lost/found property procedure

All lost property is recorded and logged at reception. Valuable items are passed onto Security who sign for any items, and these are then logged again. This means we have an identifiable audit trail.

All lost property is passed onto a local charity after 3 months.

In the event of any item being suspect then this will be given to the security team to deal with as appropriate.

Library

Library staff record the details of any item found, and if possible they will contact the owner to inform them of their loss. When collecting property it will be necessary to bring your staff/student card, or some other form of ID. All items are kept for a minimum of two months before disposal.

You can contact the Library Security Desk on 01332 591217 (or just 1217 from an internal line).
