Hello
I am the Subject Librarian for all subjects within the School of Culture and Lifestyle at the University of Derby Buxton and for Access and Foundation courses at Derby. Whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student I can help and support you in finding the right academic resources and using them within your studies.
How I can help
I can help you make full use of information resources and the library, including:
- Finding information for an assignment
- Researching your dissertation
- Using e-journal articles, e-books, paper-based resources and other e-resources
- Developing your use of referencing, search techniques and other study skills topics
- Accessing e-journal articles on your device (smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC)
- Discovering specialist resources for your subject area
You can contact me by email, over the phone or visit me in the Devonshire library for 1-2-1 help. We also run workshops on these skills throughout the year and everyone is encouraged to attend, look out for posters around campus and updates on the Devonshire Library's Twitter and Facebook pages.
Support for Academic Staff
If you are a member of staff and want to arrange a library induction for yourself, order new resources (paper or electronic) or arrange information skills workshops for your students please contact me. I can also help you to find new academic information resources and to create reading lists through Aspire
I am also your first line of support for having course readings digitised and supporting you in using UDORA. I work very closely with Maria Carnegie and we take a team approach to supporting your needs.
If you need information about or support from other areas of Learning Enhancement & Innovation (LEI) I can help you and liaise with the relevant team on your behalf.
