Research skills
Walk around the library and note the main areas of interest such as:
- Service Counter
- Subject Information Desk
- IT Help Desk
- Self service machines
- Scanners
- PCs/Macs
- Photocopiers
- Book Sequences
- Periodicals etc.
Ensure that you are aware of the position of the library catalogues. To locate items type in a keyword, author or title and make a note of the classification number. Then locate the item on the corresponding shelves.
Remember that if a book is on loan, or you cannot find it on the shelves, you can place a reservation on the item by clicking the request button on the item record on the library catalogue.
