Effective Interventions in Transnational Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking Conference Free International Conference in Malaysia 23-24 November 2015

Convened by the International Policing and Justice Institute (IPJI), University of Derby, UK in recognition of its inauguration and hosted by the Royal Malaysian Police

Keynote speakers include Kevin Hyland, UK’s Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, and Paul Broadbent, Chief Executive of the UK’s Gangmaster Licensing Authority.

About the conference

Human trafficking is a global problem of increasing magnitude and sophistication. A major challenge for both governments and law enforcement is to understand and respond effectively to this growing complexity, that affects the lives of millions of people worldwide.

The conference aims to enable better understanding of the problem and create better opportunities to offer solutions to prevent its further spread, while combatting traffickers and alleviating the suffering of their victims.

The International Policing and Justice Institute at the University of Derby (and its partners) seeks to enable practitioners, policy makers and researchers to meet and discuss issues and trends, recent research, innovation advances and in-the-field experiences related to human trafficking.

The conference therefore is expected to help meet its aims by unfolding insightful understanding and offering realistic solutions through, say, case studies or research linked to the lived realities of victims, and law enforcement.
