Lectures will automatically be linked to the Panopto tool in Course Resources and are easy to add as a link in your module or program.

Before reading this guide, ensure that you have followed the steps in SETUP section of this site.

Before you start:


Log in to Course Resources and navigate to the Module or Programme and the content area you want to work on.

 

Make sure Edit Mode is turned on - Turning Edit Mode off will allow you to view the module as the students see it.

1. In the content area of your module, hover mouse pointer over 'Add Interactive Tool' menu and Click 'Panopto Video Link'

2. Select Panopto Folder from the drop down list
This list will contain folders you have set up in the module with the Course Resources Panopto tool.

Select the folder that contains the session you want to create a link to fromthe drop down list.
 


3. Select Panopto Lecture from the drop down list
The list of sessions contained in the chosen folder should now be available.

Select the session that you want to create a link to from the drop down list.


4. Edit title and description
The title of the session is automatically entered into the form when chosen from the list (as shown in the previous step).  The title can be edited and a description added.

5. Click the 'Submit' button and Click 'OK' on the confirmation message that appears

A link to the Panopto video will now appear in the content area and your captured lecture will be available to students.

What if I need to share a video across multiple modules?

You may have recorded lectures in a previous year and wish to republish them to a new cohort of students or to different modules with common themes. This guide will show you how to extend access to Panopto videos that are attached to other Course Resources (Blackboard) modules/programmes.  

Before reading this guide, ensure that you have followed the steps in 'SETUP' for each module/programme you want to extend access to. 

 

Before you start:


Log in to Course Resources and navigate to the Module or Programme and the content area you want to work on.
Make sure Edit Mode is turned on - Turning Edit Mode off will allow you to view the module as the students see it.

1. Open the Panopto Focus Content tool and click on the 'Configure' button
There will be a hidden link to the Panopto Tool in the Module Menu.
Click on this link to open the Panopto Focus Content tool and then click the Configure button.

2. Highlight any Available Folders you wish to use with the module and click 'Add'.  Click the 'Submit' button
The Configure Panopto Focus Course page will now load.  You can add other Panopto folders that you have created so that recordings can be published across modules.  Completing this step ensures that students have access to the recordings in those folders.

3. Click 'Submit'
You will now see the Panopto Focus Content tool page.  Notice the tool has now configured the module/programme to give enrolled users access to other Panopto folders
