Technology Driving Change in Education

An insight into the future of e-learning was give at the "Shaping the Future of Online Learning" Conference, the first hosted by University of Derby Online (UDOL). One hundred academic and support staff attended the event at the University's Enterprise centre, where they attended thought-provoking guest talks and break out sessions for reflection and debate. They also got the chance to see a range of exemplar teaching and learning materials, which were produced and demonstrated by the TEL team's Learning Technolgy Advisers.

This Media Team recorded the key guest speakers which included Donald Clark, former CEO and one of the original founders of Epic Group plc, a leading company in the UK e-learning market before being sold in 2005. He delivered a facinating talk entitled "From Gutenberg to Zuckerberg" where he discussed the extent to which pedagogic change is now driven by technology.
