Campus Pack

Campus pack

What is it?

Campus Pack is a social learning platform that integrates directly with Course Resources (Blackboard) and provides tutors with the opportunity to set up blogs, wikis and podcasts in their modules. Publishing materials and managing who has access to these tools, and when, is administered through individual module areas. Evidence suggests that when students are authoring and contributing to learning spaces established by these tools they become much more engaged and active in their studying, and as a group have a much stronger cohort identity.

How does it work?

Blogs, wikis and podcasts can all be set up by accessing the 'Add Interactive Tool' drop down menu in any content area within your module. From here you will be taken to a series of setup screens which allow you to personalise access to groups or individual students, add time and date restrictions and customise the look and feel of your particular choice of social learning tool. Publishing a blog, wiki or podcast can be achieved within a matter of minutes, all using this common user-interface.

Where do I find it?

Support for setting up any of the Campus Pack tools and using them in a learning and teaching context is provided by the Learning Technology Team located in B111 at Kedleston Road. Assistance can be sought by emailing learningtechs@derby.ac.uk or calling extension 1865
