My background

I have been working in education since 2003, and over this time, I have gained considerable experience in the theory and practice of technology-enhanced learning. Before joining the University of Derby in 2011 I worked for Nottingham Trent University in a similar role helping academic staff to use technologies within their teaching practice.

I have a particular interest in:

• Social Media for collaborative learning
• Technologies supporting employability
• Accessibility and learning technologies
• Creative forms of Assessment and feedback

I am currently working towards a Masters in Online and Distance Education with the Open University. Studying this qualification has helped me to develop my understanding of how technologies can engage learners and have a positive impact on the whole learning experience.
