Creating a submission point
A submission point needs to be created in Course Resources before your students can submit their work electronically
The TurnitinUK submission point can be setup in many different ways. In order for the University to support students from a central service, it has been decided that there should be a recommended default setup. These settings are:
- Students can view originality reports to help with referencing skills
- Re-submissions are accepted until the due date (any old submissions are overwritten)
- Late submissions accepted (but marked as late)
- Other settings about how the originality report looks
Example special instruction text can also be found at the bottom of the page.
If you decide to use different options, the overall University support will be different from what you have selected. You will therefore be responsible for making your students aware of any differences and for supporting them in case of difficulties.
Please remember that if you are looking to set up a non-text based submission you might want to look at using the Course Resources assignment tool instead of Turnitin.

Special Instructions Text
Copy the below text into the special instructions area of the submission point:
Please submit your work for assignment (enter assignment number) here.
Your assignment must be submitted as one single file. Do not split your assignment, bibliography or appendix items in to separate documents. It is possible to submit your assignment late. The due date can be found by click on the "view/complete" link. If submitted up to 7 days AFTER the assignment deadline the work will be capped at 40% in accordance with academic regulations. If submitted after this date the work will be ignored unless prior arrangements have been made in accordance with academic regulations.
After the post date feedback and grades can be found by clicking on the "view/complete" link.
Further guidelines on using the electronic submission system can be found on: www.derby.ac.uk/esub
