Summative Delivery

Summative Computer Assisted Assessment can be delivered in dedicated computer labs using the University's Blackboard Platform. It is important to consider the logistics of setting up a summative test where you may be required to run back to back sessions because there is a lack of lab space and that there is always the potential for interruption due to technical failure e.g. power-cuts or network unavailability.

Delivery of a summative Computer Assisted Assessment requires extra steps compared with its formative counterpart.

• Deploy the summative test using recommended delivery options
• Book labs for students to take the test
• Provide students with relevant information prior to the exam (e.g. instructions on taking a CAA)
• Inform invigilators of exam regulations, support contacts and potential issues of the CAA
• Retrieve the results
