Love Your Library Week
Research from the University of Huddersfield¹ has shown that there is a positive link between students' use of library resources and their degree results. Love Your Library (11 - 15 February) is a week of short workshops and demonstrations about library resources and services, and is the perfect way for your students to upgrade their skills and knowledge.
We get a lot of feedback from students who have attended a library session saying that they wish they had known more about the resources and services provided by the library earlier in their course. We have over 40,000 journals and over 11,000 books available electronically and Love Your Library week will include short sessions about using these library resources off campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There will be taster sessions about The Book of Love, (Cite Them Right) Matchmaking (reserving books), and Declaring your True Intentions (writing a literature review) and lots of other opportunities for students to find out about the ways the library can help them to improve their degree results. In addition, sessions from the Career Development Centre can help to prepare students for the next step after their degree.
Please encourage your students to participate - more details and a booking form can be found on the Love Your Library Week website
