This session will explore how social media can be used to develop a professional research presence online as well as consider the issues inherent in working in an open manner online. It will specifically consider the role of managing your digital footprint, issues of copyright and privacy online as well as some of the debates surrounding academic publishing.

Participants will pick up techniques for exploring different forms of social media and managing an academic digital identity in a complex online world.
