The HEA Toolkit Project: A resource for academic staff in Higher Education

Chris is Senior Learning and Teaching Advisor in the Institute of Learning Enhancement and Innovation and Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts, Design & Technology. With over 17 years experience of teaching in schools, colleges, conservatoires and universities, Chris maintains an active research and creative practice profile and has presented and published internationally on the subject of creativity and education.
Session Outline
This session will introduce associate work completed with the Higher Education Academy developing "Toolkit" materials to support academic staff new to university teaching. Including a general review of the HEA "Toolkit" project, the session will focus specifically on academic staff and student perspectives of assessment and investigate an increasing diversity of assessment techniques and their impact on student learning and academic teaching practice.
The session is discursive and collaborative with an emphasis placed on sharing of professional insights.
Follow up sessions
Follow up sessions in the programme exploring assessment practice will continue themes of assessment design, implementation and management.
