Students at the heart of the system: Visions for the post 2012 era
Tuesday 30th October (1.00 - 2.30)
A representative panel of UoD students will convey their thoughts and expectations about the post 2012 era in Higher Education. What motivated them to come to university, what are their hopes for the future and what are their expectations while they are here?
Session Outline
The session will begin with introductions and a general overview of why panel members chose Higher Education as the next step in their development and indeed, why the UoD. The key focus will be on 'student expectations'; what they expect for their money and whether they view themselves as students or consumers. What do they expect from tutors and what is their vision for the post 2012 era? All these questions and more will form the framework for a detailed and authentic debate.
Follow up sessions
It is planned that similar panel sessions will take place as this group of student's progress through their programmes and awards and on towards graduation.
