Studying LL.B (Hons) at Derby
The degree itself provided me with academic skills and practical based skills such as the mooting activities which were organised regularly throughout my course. A particular interest of mine was an activity which involved the cross examination of the expert witness. This was interesting as it allowed students to have complete control over the case and experience of real life scenarios.
A supportive team
I found the lecturers to be friendly and supportive. I found that lecturers had a vast amount of experience and understood my personal circumstances.
Impressive facilities
The University Court Room and Family Court Room was impressive, providing a real life experience.
Winning the award
Not only did I achieve my goal my achieving a high degree classification, but it also goes to show that lecturers do watch and do take notice of students, like me, who do not fit the 'typical' student bill. I am very pleased and proud that I have been awarded the Michael Gilmartin Memorial Award for Enthusiasm and Engagement with the Programme.
