Your career

Rebecca Davison
Rebecca graduated in 2005.  Click on the picture to see what she's up to now.

The LL.B programme is a qualifying law degree, with full exemptions from the first stage of the Bar Council and Law Society examinations. It is also recognised by the Council of Legal Education (NI) for the purposes of admission to the Institute of Professional Legal Studies and qualification for the legal profession in Northern Ireland.

You could enjoy a successful career at home or abroad in private practice, local government, the Crown Prosecution Service, government departments, the courts, law centres, the police service, banking, commerce, industry, publishing and education. Or you could choose to continue in education at a postgraduate level studying the LL.M.

A law degree is a valuable qualification in itself and even if you don't want to become a practitioner you will find that it still provides a stepping-stone to many other careers.

Those of our students working for solicitor firms are regularly offered training contracts with their employer, when they have completed the Legal Practice Course.
