My current role involves the execution of large heavy industry construction work at several multi national locations, and requires the management and administration of hundreds of contracts.
Increasingly, legal aspects of operation in multinational areas are a major risk factor to any project.
As such, it's important that I have a sound knowledge of the laws that apply internationally in the commercial arena, and that's why I chose the LL.M Commercial Law. In fact, my work even influenced the order in which I've chosen to study each module, and I'm studying International Trade Law first.
Studying online suits me perfectly
Even though I'm only a few months into the course, studying the first couple of modules has helped me a lot. I work at remote locations and I am rarely in the UK and as such unable to physically participate at University. This course has been one of the few that are ideally suited to my needs, having a full time job, operating overseas and without easy access to Law libraries I couldn't study any other way than online. I tend to get into my office early and study prior to starting and immediately after work. I also study on Saturdays.
The support from lecturers and online resources is excellent
What I've found most helpful is that links and recommendations for literature are provided in the study materials, and in many cases can be accessed online. I've also found the electronic library systems extremely useful.
This course has been ideal for my needs and is helping me a lot in my working life. It's been enjoyable, and I've received excellent help from the lecturers and staff when requested. I definitely think I've made a good choice.
