Courtroom

The second that you walk in to the Courtroom, you're in the right frame of mind to learn.

The Voice UK Courtroom

Donated by the Lord Chancellor's Department (now Department for Constitutional Affairs), the 350 person capacity Courtroom in many ways sums up the Derby approach: learning by doing and enabling people to advocate their views and beliefs effectively.

It's used for many activities including mooting and advocacy assessments, forensic science cross-examinations and expert witness training sessions.

Your time in the Courtroom

It's where you'll:

  • spend most of each day of the first two weeks
  • first speak in front of your group
  • have some of the most memorable (and perhaps less memorable) lectures
  • test your skills as an advocate
  • sit in judgement on your colleagues.

We've recently refurbished  the Courtroom and it now includes cameras and digital recording equipment to guarantee that lessons can be learned again and again.
