Training with Judges

Filming

I had a great time filming and I think we really showed the Judges what Derby law students have to offer. It was such an amazing experience.

Ava Krajniewska, LL.B (Hons)

A group of our Law students were recently invited by District Judge Williscroft (Derby and Mansfield County Courts) to take part in the making of a training video for the Judiciary.

Our students were supplied with scripts and had to play various roles within a courtroom scenario. The video will be used as a training aid for the Judiciary.

The project was organised by University Principal Tutor, Tony Wragg. He says "we work extensively with local law practitioners, agencies and organisations and this is just another example of the opportunities our students benefit from because of our strong professional links."

The Judges were delighted with the input from our law students and in return for their help they were given the opportunity to spend a day gaining work experience with the Judges at the courts.

What our students say

"Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the training DVD, it was a great experience.
