JHS Helpful Information

Information and forms useful to Joint Honours and Combined Studies programme students

Joint Honours students can visit the Programme Advisory Service for assistance and advice. We can also arrange appointments with Academic Counsellors.

Joint Honours Scheme timetable

The Joint Honours Timetable for 2012/13 is now available. Please select the tabs at the bottom of the document to view each JHS subject.  This document shows lecture times only and you will be allocated a specific tutorial group when you begin in September. You can find out where your all classes will be, and the tutorial times for your modules, through using this guide to the UDo timetable. Please check your module timetable regularly, in case of room changes.

Subject Lists

Here you can find out which faculty your joint honours subject belongs to and how you can contact the faculty if you need to.

Joint Honours Scheme timetable zones

The Joint Honours Scheme has more than 40 subjects that can be combined by studying 2 or 3 subjects together. Each subject is in one of four zones. You can combine subjects as long as they are in different zones (there are a few exceptions). This information tells you which zones subjects are in and which days you can expect to be studying them.

Joint Honours Scheme Handbook 2012/13 Module Descriptions

The Joint Honours Scheme Handbook 2012/13 provides module descriptions for all modules available on JHS Subjects, and whether they are prescribed or optional for each JHS pathway (Major, Joint or Minor).

The JHS Handbook also gives you important information about about the Scheme, Assessment Regulations for 2012/13 and the University's Regulations.

Combined Studies Programme Handbook 2012/13

The purpose of the Combined Studies Programme Handbook is to serve as the primary source of reference for all students to the most flexible of all the degree programmes offered by the University of Derby.

Working out your Degree Classification

Our degree classification document tells you how you can predict your overall degree classification, and provides a worksheet at the back that you can use for the calculations. Alternatively, you could speak with an Academic Counsellor who will be able to give you an idea of the classification you are likely to achieve based on your grades so far.
