Building works

During the summer, a lot can change. For a start, we're hoping you'll recharge your batteries and be refreshed in time for the new semester. But probably the most common change is your details. Maybe you've moved house, or moved from halls of residence in to rented accommodation. It might be that you've got married - or divorced! - and you need to change your name on your student profile. If you've changed your telephone number we could do with knowing that too! If any of this is applies to you, let us know about it; it's quick, it's easy and it'll save you time in the long term.

There are various ways of changing your details and keeping us up to date; pick one that's easiest for you and we'll do the rest.

Name change

  • You will need legal documentation to prove the change i.e. Passport, Driving License, or Marriage Certificate; this can only be done in person by visiting your nearest Student Support Centre.

Term/home address change

  • No legal documentation is required for this so you can change your details using UDo, by emailing Student Support or by visiting your nearest Student Support Centre.

Telephone number change

  • No legal documentation is required for this so you can change your details using UDo, by emailing Student Support or by visiting your nearest Student Support Centre.

Please note that we can't make any changes via a telephone call but we would be happy to answer any of your queries if you contact us. Our telephone number is 01332 591274.

How to DIY on UDo

Want to know how to Do It Yourself on University of Derby Online (UDo)?

  • First of all, you'll need to Log In to UDo
  • Along the top of the page, click the 'tab' called 'Personal'.
  • In the first paragraph (called 'My Profile') click the link to 'Student Centre'.
  • Just enter your Log In details (as you would for UDo) and from here, amend your details using the tabs along the top and the online instructions.

 * Monday - Thursday, 9.00am - 5.00pm and Friday, 9.00am - 4:30pm; does not include Bank Holidays.

No ID - No entry...

If you've changed your name, you should renew your Student ID card. This is important for when you sit your exams because the wrong ID means no entry! Likewise for when you're collecting your exam certificate, letters, submitting assignments, proving that you are who you say you are....

The list is endless but needless to say, it's important and could save you a lot of time in the long run and what's more - it's free! You'll need to visit your Student Support Centre to pick one up.
