Course fees
Course fees
We want to be open and transparent with you about all aspects of your student life, so our course fees reflect the real cost of providing a high quality student experience.
We have three types of course, so we have three fee categories.
Our course fees for international students 2012/13 are:
Classroom based courses
These courses are mainly delivered in a lecture theatre and do not involve any specialist facilities or equipment.
- Undergraduate: £9,700 per year
- Postgraduate: £10,200 per year
Resource intensive courses
These courses involve additional activities, fieldtrips, equipment, materials or specialist facilities.
- Undergraduate: £9,975 per year
- Postgraduate: £10,500 per year
Specialist courses
These are a select group of courses where we have established a very strong reputation in a subject area.
- Undergraduate: £10,250 per year
- Postgraduate: £10,800 per year
Fees for 2013/14 will be available on our website in late 2012.
However, if you pay your fees in full by enrolment you will receive a £500 discount on all courses except the International Foundation Programme - as long as the full Postgraduate or Undergraduate fees are paid.
Our tuition fees for international students
English university tuition fees are charged at different rates that depend on a number of factors, which are determined by Government guidelines.
There is usually one rate for UK and EU students, and a higher rate for international students.
The tuition fees that you will pay depend on you fulfilling certain criteria. We assess everyone individually during the application process, and will let you know the amount you need to pay for your course.
Some international students pay the same tuition fees as UK and EU students
These are usually:
- people who have permanent residence in the UK and have been living here for three years
- EEA migrant workers and their families who have lived in the EEA for three years
- EU nationals and their spouses and children who have lived in the EEA for three years
- refugees (recognised by the UK Government) and their families
- people and their families who have applied for asylum and been granted exceptional or discretionary leave to enter or remain, or have been given humanitarian protection.
